Branding for Funky Home Goods Shop

Viand Mercantile sources vintage and new products locally and internationally to create a vibrant destination for home enthusiasts who crave the unexpected.

Background

Viand approached us seeking a complete branding experience to bring founder Jenn Bravo's retail vision to life. After years of hosting vintage pop-ups and testing the waters, Jenn was ready to invest in a lasting brand that would cater to the Portland area and beyond.

The Solution

Our branding process centered on intensive brand work sessions to define Viand's unique selling points and explore the fusion of fun and funky in its visual identity. Drawing inspiration from global travels, we crafted a bold and vibrant color palette, paired with distinctive typefaces and playful textures and patterns. The logo, featuring a duck with binoculars, symbolizes Viand's blend of vintage and contemporary housewares, embodying quirky yet surprisingly harmonious pairings.

The Outcome

Our foundational branding efforts resulted in a cohesive and expressive identity that mirrors the eclectic offerings of Viand Mercantile, inviting customers to discover a world of uniqueness within the store and online.
