Integration & Operations

Shopify ERP Services

Ok, look, we're big ecommerce dorks — this should be obvious by now. We get visibly animated talking about Shopify's new metaobjects and how they can impact product data models. Give us a pocket protector and we'll tell you too bad, our pocket is already full of a TI-89 with the snake game we got from Seth in math class. Loud and proud, big dorks. And even we have a hard time getting too riled up when it comes to ERPs and order routing.

But that doesn't mean they aren't important. In fact, a poorly configured ERP integration is one of the most common sources of catastrophic operational failures we've seen in ecommerce — inventory mismatches that oversell products, order routing errors that send the wrong items, reporting disconnects that make it impossible to understand your actual profitability. Skill and experience can significantly improve the chances of a rollout you wouldn't call "botched."

Inventory Sync

The fundamental challenge of any ERP-Shopify integration is keeping inventory counts accurate in real time across both systems. We've built these syncs for manufacturing environments (tracking input materials through production), for multi-SKU CPG brands managing across multiple 3PLs, and for retailers juggling in-store and online inventory from a single pool. The platforms we've worked with include NetSuite, Cin7, Brightpearl, FileMaker, and various custom-built systems. Each has its quirks, its API limitations, and its gotchas — and we've found most of them the hard way so you don't have to.

Order Routing

When you have multiple fulfillment locations — a retail store, a 3PL, an in-house warehouse, a manufacturing facility — you need smart order routing logic. Which location fulfills which order? What happens when one location is out of stock? How do you handle split shipments? These are solvable problems, and Shopify Flow plus a well-configured ERP integration is usually the answer. We've built routing rules that account for geography, product availability, shipping cost, and customer service tier.

Reporting Reconciliation

One of the most underappreciated aspects of a good ERP integration is clean reporting. When your ERP and Shopify are in sync, your finance team can trust their numbers, your buyers can make confident inventory decisions, and your operators can see what's actually happening across the business. We've built reporting pipelines that send data from Shopify to ERPs, from ERPs to dashboards, and from both to the people who need to make decisions.

Is any of this sexy? Not remotely. Did it improve the lives of our clients? For sure. Give us a systems problem and we will create systems solutions — and ERPs are often a crucial piece of that puzzle.
