Why work with us

We have built and supported Shopify stores across a range of catalogue sizes and business models, including merchants moving over from other platforms such as WooCommerce and Magento. That history shapes how we scope work: we start with how the business actually sells, then decide what needs building.

First Pier was the first digital agency in Maine accepted into Shopify's Experts program. Shopify retired that program in October 2023 and replaced it with the Shopify Partner Directory, where First Pier is listed today.

Why Shopify

Shopify is not the right answer for every business, but it fits most of the merchants we talk to. Three reasons it tends to hold up:

• Well supported: a large app and partner ecosystem means most problems already have a proven solution.

• Feature development: custom functionality for the requirements the platform and available apps do not cover.
• Store migrations: moving products, customers, content and URLs from an existing platform onto Shopify.

The work ranges from focused improvements on a live store through to a full rebuild.
