Platform Migrations

Boring

Hitting revenue goals is exciting, but the only excitement that comes during a migration process is the bad kind. With more than a decade of experience in Shopify migrations specifically, we can lean on our expertise to move your customer, order, and product data safely, and without those big whoopsie moments that happen just *after* an email goes out to your whole customer list.

Orderly

You could argue this is just an extension of boring, and you wouldn’t be wrong per se—but the thing is, good migrations make the complex seem straightforward, and the key to that process is order of operations. Our process prioritizes moving product and site data first, followed by customer and order data shortly before cutover. Is there a reason for that? Oh, you know it. Moving products first means that when we move orders, the newly imported Shopify orders can reference real products in the catalog, which makes everything just dramatically better.

Considered

The biggest single question with a platform migration is what stays the same and what takes a leap forward. In fact, the data migration is most often the least of a migration project. We’ll work with you on your site and content structure and bring in designers to ensure that a new site is properly designed. Typically platform migrations are as much a Shopify site setup and optimization as anything else.

This all actually assumes that you want to migrate to Shopify. And—if it’s not clear—that’s a decision we’d wholeheartedly support, whether with us or with anyone else. We find Shopify to be simply the best platform for businesses trying to sell online. Read more about why we choose Shopify here.
